Saint Aubin 1er cru Les Perrières

  • Wine tasting

A rather bright colour, heading toward golden hues. On the nose a frank attack which combines lemony notes, white tea, white flowers and toasted bread. The palate offers a complex range of aromas drawing the fruity character from the Chardonnay while the invigorating side comes more from the clay-limestone nature of its terroir.

Despite a beautiful sweetness and an aromatic liveliness on the palate linked to a salivating acidity of the fruit, the aging in wooden barrels and demi-muids is well integrated. The bitters of the skin distinguish themselves a little from those of the wood. They will need a few years before they integrate into one another. This duo of bitterness lengthens the finish and gives a scope and an aromatic framework requiring a little time before unfolding.
This is a wine full of charm, of life, whose vibrancy while tasting young will first come from the fruit. Then comes the time when the terroir will appear after few years in the cellar.
